Hotel Reservations:

Update, 11 May 2008:
Discounted rooms in our block are still available for the main conference nights of June 24, 25, 26.

The Hilton room block for Friday night June 27th has filled. There are still rooms available at the non-discounted hotel price for June 27th. However, booking them with checkout later than June 27 is a little tricky.
To book a stay with check-out of Saturday morning:
(1) Book the first part of your stay, with check-out June 27th. You should get the conference rate ($195).

(2) Book the second part of your stay as a separate reservation transaction, checking in June 27th and checking out June 28th. The room rate will be about $290 (pick the "unrestricted rate"), but at least you will have a room and can cancel this reservation with no penalty until a few days before arrival.
Then send e-mail with the nights you need rooms for (either because of the high rate or because you couldn't get any room at all) to rooms@dsn08.org. Please allow a few days for a reply. We will assess demand and locate alternate room locations at reduced rates if possible. However, this is high season so we can't make guarantees. You should definitely reserve a room somewhere and not wait for us to find you one. You might also try booking just the Friday night room through a discount travel service such as Expedia.com or Hotels.com if they offer better rates (we can't officially endorse those services, but have used them in the past without a problem). Thanks for your patience.

(Also see our Airline Discounts & Rental Car Discountweb page.)

The Hilton Anchorage hotel reservation deadline is Friday, May 16, 2008. Anchorage rooms are scarce during the conference and the Hilton is already sold out for our dates except for our room block -- be sure to book your room before the deadline! Please see the "Location" page for more details about Anchorage and the hotel.

We recommend you use the special DSN reservation web site for hotel reservations:
http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/groups/personalized/ancahhf_dsn/index.jhtml
For on-line reservations you may need to enter the 3-letter SRP code: "DSN" as the Group/Convention Code. Our rate is US $195/night single/double, non-inclusive of meals.

Alternately, you can contact Hilton Worldwide Reservations by phone:
1-800-445-8667 (toll-free USA); or see this Hilton web page for regional phone numbers.
Be sure to specify "SRP CODE DSN" to get the block room rate.

The conference hotel is:
Hilton Anchorage
500 West Third Ave.
Anchorage, AK 99501
USA
Toll free customer assistance: 1-800-245-2527 (USA only)
Hotel operator: +1-907-272-7411
Hotel fax: +1-907-265-7044
Hotel main web site: http://www.anchorage.hilton.com

There is a $50 early check-out fee at the Hilton. This applies after you check in if you leave before your stated departure date. However, you can change your departure date at any time before and during the check-in process without a penalty. (So, if you need to change your departure, don't forget to do it while you are checking in.)

If you wish to share a room, please send e-mail to Jen Black at: roommate@dsn08.org with the following information:
Gender (M/F); Student (Y/N); Smoker (Y/N). She'll provide a name of a possible match. We act as a referral service only and can bear no responsibility for the actual room sharing arrangement, which is entirely up to you. If in doubt, reserve a 2-bed room by the deadline, because it is easier to cancel if you find someone to share with who already has a room than it is to find a room after the deadline!

Also, see the DSN 2008 Discussion Web Site for postings about accomodations, travel plans, and other relevant information.
