Short bio

I expect to graduate from Carnegie Mellon University with a PhD degree in 2007. I have broad research interests in computer systems. Currently I am investigating ways to make the management of distributed systems easier. I received the Masters of Science (MS) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2003 at Carnegie Mellon. The theme of my master's thesis was an advanced disk scheduling algorithm called freeblock scheduling. I received my Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science in 2002 also at CMU. I was born and raised in Albania, but at the age of 15 moved with my family to Vienna, Austria. There I completed my high school in 1998, at the Vienna International School (VIS).

In the non-technical world, my main activities involve photography (I study at Pittsburgh Filmmakers 2003-present), volunteering (at a local animal shelter) and traveling.
